The transport department on Friday cancelled the licences of 19 driving schools operating in Nagpur rural, Chandrapur and Gadchiroli districts in Nagpur region for not adhering to norms.
The move was initiated after a surprise inspection was carried out in February this year. Regional transportation office action has brought to a complete halt the training of candidates in these motor training schools.
The motor training schools cancelled under the Regional Transportation Office, Nagpur (rural), include Shree Motor Driving School, Vadegaon; Datt Motor Driving school, Katol; Baba Motor Driving school, Mauda and ITI Motor Driving school, Saoner.
